Can You Believe It?

28 07 2009

I can’t believe it. I’ve been bloging for almost two years. Just a little over. I didn’t realize that two years ago in June I’ve started bloging. I’ve had my ups and downs but I’ve changed so much for the better. In rememberance of  my first post why don’t you revisit it right here.

45 DAYS?!

22 07 2009

WHAT?! How can it only be 45 days until I’m supposed to be there?! Wow. My college life is coming up so quickly and I don’t know if I’m ready. I say that every time I post about college though….I will be in Pensacola 2 days before. Get to do a little sight seeing. I’m excited for my freshman year. Really just branching away from the whole homeschooled life. Don’t get me wrong, I loved being homeschool….starting/finishing school when you wanted, doing school in your pajamas, eating whenever I wanted to…it was fun….college will be the polar opposite. 45 days….

Cross Training!

20 07 2009

One of my managers wanted to cross train me for catalog. Catalog is a LOT of responsibility. You have access to all of the holds and have access to the register that gives change. Of course when she found out that I’m leaving so soon for college she decided against it. For now I hope. I really want to learn new stuff…mostly because shoes stays pretty slow at least at catalog I would constantly be doing something.

What Is That I Hear?

17 07 2009

I hear it! It’s so loud. You MUST hear it too. It’s the sound of a gigantic airplane with many many people on it headed to a place. A very special place for me. Pensacola, Florida. Today marks 50 days until I have to be at PCC. I’ll be there two days early but still. I can’t believe how close it is. It’s amazing. I know that it’ll be here faster than I want it to be but I hope that it’ll still be exciting for me. I can’t wait to meet many of the people I have connected with on the facebook group for PCC freshman this fall.

Proverbs 22:1

15 07 2009

Proverbs 22:1

A good name is rather to be chosen than great riches, and loving favour rather than silver or gold.

What an amazing verse that rings so true. Yesterday I had a friend ask me to take a friend to the orthodontis today. I said yes. This morning my work called and asked me to work a full day, open to close. I had to decline. This verse was the first thing that popped into my head when they asked me to work. It’s so great. And even if I lose this job God will provide.

Hymn Playing Advice 2

12 07 2009

So in this previous blog post I talked about hymn playing and basically what I do but I just realized I left half of it. I didn’t get to talk about the right hand. Here goes.

Right Hand: I play in octaves, usually filled in. So instead of just play two Cs on a C chord I play a full C chord. (C, E, G, and a C just in case you didn’t know) Octaves give the song a fuller, richer song. It takes practice it’s not something that most people can pick up over night.

Left Hand: Let me amend this a little. I don’t JUST do octave and chords. I do use what pianist call runs. I’ll just 8th notes, 16th notes, and triplet runs. It’s something I was to expound on once I have a way of posting pictures of the hymns.

Expect more soon. Of course within reason since I’m leaving for college in a little less than 54 days.

NaBloPoMo

11 07 2009

Haha! So I guess it’s National Blog Posting Month! I’m going to try and post regularly. Maybe once every 3rd day or something. It’s like NaNoWriMo, National Novel Writing Month, except that NaNoWriMo is harder.

Good Christian Music

10 07 2009

People always question why I love conservative Christian music. Why? Here’s two god reasons why.

http://www.greghowlett.com/daybreakdownload.aspx

http://greghowlett.com/portraitsdownload.aspx

Daybreak Quartet: I’ve known about them since forever. My parents knew two of them as children. The group has an amazing sound and quartet music is some of my favorite music. Well mostly small groups. Greg harmonies coming from these guys.

Greg Howlett: An AMAZING pianist! I found him by recommendation of a friend. I thought just some normal pianist with a style that’s somewhat original but no it was the complete opposite! I can’t wait to see what else he comes up with.

The reason I’m posting this is because they are both giving away their new cds free. All one has to do is recommend the cd to 3 friends.

Last Day of Childhood

4 07 2009

Wow. What a day. Picnic, outlet mall, lots of eating, lots of games, and lots of fun. I’m so blessed to have many friends who care about me. I can’t believe that 18 years have passed. Many so quickly that I can’t remember. Life has been a whirlwind. I can’t wait to see what God has in store for me. It’s not that far away that I leave for college.

College is only 64 days away.
