American Idol Performance

31 03 2009

Here’s a list of what I though of every performance and then I’ll list them in the order from best to worst.

Anoop Desai – Yeah right. HORRIBLE! That’s all that I can say.

Megan Joy – Needs to go right now. It’s not that she can’t sing it’s that she can’t pick songs.

Danny Gokey – My favorite in the competition right now. I felt that his singing was from the heart.

Allison Iraheata – It was ok….she was really trying to impress…and it wasn’t working.

Scott MacIntyre – AMAZING. Although I liked him at first and then I didn’t like him, I have found that tonight he amazed me. Just the sound of the pure piano and his voice was great.

Matt Giraud – To me, as well as to the judges, it was way to close to the original.

Lil Rounds – Good. At some times it sounded a little whiney but other than that it was great!

Adam Lambert – To me it was a disaster! I love the original and I love Taylor Hick’s version from two seasons ago and now Adam comes along with his shouty voice and I don’t like it.

Kris Allen – !!! Great !!! My favorite from this night.

Best to Worst:

Kris Allen

Scott MacIntyre

Danny Gokey

Matt Giraud

Lil Rounds

Allison Iraheata

Adam Lambert

Anoop Desai

Megan Joy

Finished Twilight

30 03 2009

After about 6 weeks I’ve finally finished Twilight. It’s actually a good book. I was a little worried going in that I wouldn’t like it or that it would be a waste of time but to me it wasn’t. Although the book was probably geared toward a slightly younger age than me it was pretty good. Well written and keeps you on the edge of the seat. I’m actually looking forward to reading the next book.

Wisdom Teeth

28 03 2009

The day is only a month away. My wisdom teeth will be pulled out next month…that means on April 23rd I will be 4 teeth lighter. Weeks after I will be blogging about it…considering I won’t be able to do much else…since I’m told I’ll be in pain and I’ll have swelling. :’( I guess it’s inevitable. I just hope it’ll heal quickly. This will also be my first “major” surgery. I don’t know if it’s considered major but I’m considering it major.

A Book?

25 03 2009

One of my greatest desires is to write a book. I don’t know what about or who the characters would be or what the plot would be but I want to write a book. I don’t know. I would love to do it and I think I have enough maturity and writing ability to do it but I need a topic. Any suggestions?

Updated AI Prediction

24 03 2009

My list has changed in less than two weeks. There are reasons listed by each name.

10. Scott MacIntyre – Good voice. Does not record well. No real personality.

9. Megan Joy – Good voice. Weird personality….not good enough to win.

8. Michael Sarver – Ok voice. Better than the last two. Not good enough to win.

7. Matt Giruad – Personality galore. This will carry him far.

6. Kris Allen – Personality and looks. Or so I’ve read from some forums. Kind of creepy since he’s married.

5. Anoop Desai – People like him. He’s got versatility that Allison and Adam don’t have but not enough to win.

4. Allison Iraheta – Young and has a great voice.

3. Lil Rounds – Amazing voice.

2. Adam Lambert – Stage personality. That’s about it. He doesn’t belong on the show…he belongs on Broadway. He yells everything…something I can’t stand.

1. Danny Gokey – Amazing voice. Personable. Best voice in the competition. Very versatile which I think is super important.

Well there’s my list for this week. We’ll check back in a couple weeks with an updated list.

Moonlight Sonata Mvt. 3 Update

21 03 2009

I’ve done it. Kind of. My teacher has been working with me on Beethoven’s Moonlight Sonata Mvt. 3. Well I haven’t finished it yet, but we’ve just gone through a “rough draft” of the piece. I find it SO amazing. I never in a million years thought that I would ever make it through that piece, not even the first movement. Amazing. Just had to inform you. Although I know that I won’t finish it before college, although my piano teacher has told me that I could if I wanted, (I don’t believe it.)  it will probably and hopefully been finished during college. YAY!

Sadness

19 03 2009

I am so sad. Alexis Grace was voted off last night. She had what it would take to win. Her rendition of Jolene was beautiful. The only reason she lost was because everyone else had just as good as performance. Except for Adam Lambert. I wish Alexis the best. I know that she will go far as a recording artist.

On the plus side I love Carrie Underwood and Randy Travis’ I Told You So.

Grand Ole Opry American Idol

18 03 2009

WOW! There was mostly great performances. I just want to say that if you want to laugh watch Adam Lambert’s version of Ring of Fire. He gave it a Middle Eastern flare. Umm…yeah right. Everyone else did great on their performances. I still love Danny Gokey. I think Adam is in danger because of that performance not as much danger as Michael Sarver or Alexis Grace. Here’s the video if you want to see it.

Twilight Update

13 03 2009

Well it’s been almost a month and I’m only about half way done with the book. I must admit as much as I don’t read it, everytime I pick it up it’s really hard to put down. It’s been a super enjoying read. I must admit that I’m jealous, I guess this is the authors first book and it’s a New York Times Best Seller. I wish I could do that.

The imagery in the book is astounding. Very well written. The characters are described extremely well and they are all relateable to, well except for Edward but honestly I don’t think anyone I know is a vampire. I must say that Stephenie Meyer captured Washington state very well. Although I don’t know where the town of Forks is…I believe it’s real…well that is if it’s not…altough it could be real.

I can’t wait until I finish the book.

Musical Life

12 03 2009

Let’s see…where have I been in my music life? I’ve been working harder to get myself ready for college. I’m not really sure if or when I’ll be ready but I need to be in order to be there. I haven’t even started considering what I’m going to play for my college audition. AHHHHHHHH! And that’s less than 6 months away. We’ll see…
